TNFC Announces Goalkeeper Training Program and Staff

TNFC is pleased to announce an exciting new goalkeeper training program that will provide position-specific training for all of the club's keepers.

This comprehensive program will instruct players on fundamental techniques such as stationary saves, diving, aerial balls, distribution, breakaways, and footwork. Training also is targeted at improving reaction time, communication skills, player psychology and understanding the role and responsibilities of the goalkeeper.

Our program is led by a team of dedicated and highly-credentialed goalkeeper coaches, all having played keeper at the NCAA Division I level.

Spring Schedule

Wednesdays, April 11 - May 23
U9 - U12: 6:00 - 6:45
U13 & UP: 6:45 - 7:30
Downs East Field 5

 

Thursdays, April 12 - May 10
U9 - U12: 6:15 - 7:00
U13 & UP: 7:00 - 7:45

Your TNFC Goalkeeper Training Staff

Stefan Caulfield
A former member of the Canadian U-20 National Team, Coach Caulfield played his college soccer in the competitive ACC while minding the net for Virginia Tech. He also played professionally with the Ottawa Fury of the PDL. Currently the men's goalkeeper coach at Lipscomb University, Stefan has also coached keepers at Power Soccer Academy and was the head women's coach at Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario.

Wes Wray
Coach Wray holds a Level III Goalkeepers Diploma from the NSCAA and a USSF National D license. His currently an assistant coach at Nashville's Hume-Fogg high school and is on the staff at Belmont University where he trains the men's keepers. Coach Wray played his club soccer in Louisville with the Javanon Soccer club and his college ball at Belmont University.

Laura Nichols
Returning home to TNFC, where she developed into a standout player, Coach Nichols rounds out the club's goalkeeping staff. After a standout career at Nashville's Father Ryan High School, she went on to play collegiately in the SEC at the University of Alabama. In addition to work on the staff at TNFC, Coach Nichols also coaches the keepers at for the Lady Rebels of Franklin High School.
